Fun Personal Brand Photo Ideas For Entrepreneurs and Small Business Owners.
You don’t need to look prim and proper in every photo to be taken seriously as a professional. If you’re a consultant, coach, or small business owner, mixing in fun shots with your classic headshots is a great way to show off your personality and stand out in your marketing.
Below are some ideas from client shoots that add a little fun while still looking polished and professional.
1. Laughing Shots
There’s something instantly likeable about someone caught mid-laugh. It makes you approachable, warm, and relatable—yes, even if you're a lawyer or accountant! Whether it’s a giggle or a full-on belly laugh, these shots are always a hit.
The photo below is of a Toronto-based videographer/editor/pastor/worship leader—and this moment totally matches her vibrant personality.
2. Feet up!
Sure, your feet don’t usually belong on the desk—but that’s exactly what makes this shot fun! It gives off “boss on break” energy and lets your personality peek through. It works just as well with fun sneakers or bare feet—an easy way to show off your vibe without showing all of you.
3. Wearing All the Hats—Literally
This play on words idea came from my client Jessica, a multi-hyphenate entrepreneur who really does wear a lot of hats—Olympian, author, speaker, and more. We brought this phrase to life in a literal and playful way, and it turned into a client favourite. There are many clever ways to play off a theme.
4. Keep It Moving!
Want to add energy and life to your brand photos? Movement is your friend.
My client, a Toronto-based lawyer and content creator, brought her classic legal rolling bag along for some fun walking shots that gave her brand a dynamic feel.
5. Boring Prop, Fun Shot
Even everyday objects can be used creatively.
Take a laptop or a globe—on their own, not very exciting. But styled or posed in the right way? Totally fun.
My client Miranda is a consultant with a love for travel, and we used the globe to reflect that side of her personality in a playful but professional way.
