5 Favourite Personal Brand Photoshoot Poses.

Before the shoot, my clients often warn me that they have no idea how to pose and are nervous about appearing awkward on camera!

But I always remind them that that’s my job! Most Brand Photographers have go-to poses they repeat with clients over and over because they work and look fantastic. Below are five of my favourite go-to poses.

The: “Cross my hands at the wrist and let em lay” Pose

I like this pose because it feels open, relaxed and welcoming! It’s professional but a bit casual at the same time!

The: “Stare off into the Distance and contemplate your future empire!”

I often say this phrase to get my clients dreamily staring out into the distance! It feels optimistic, future-forward, visionary and can work with many social media captions about dreaming and planning what’s next!

The: “Gently Lean forward and Caress your chin”

The key here is not to smush your face with your hand! Instead, it's a gentle soft touch or caress that works every time.

The: “Lean forward and clap for Joy”

In sessions, I warn my clients it will look ridiculous doing it! I'll demonstrate first and reassure them that it looks fun even if it feels goofy! It usually makes them laugh, and voila! I got my shot.

The "Arms crossed, I'm the Boss, Applesauce."

This pose says I mean business! It's not aggressive or too harsh, but the crossed arms make it clear who is running the show!

These five poses above are some of my favourites, but so many other poses are possible. It's about picking the best ones that fit my client's vibe and telling their Personal Brand Story.
